Strange Astra problem...

This morning on the way to work, I accelerated after a gear change and steering right, and the car kept right lock on, it felt as if the steering wheel was being pushed to the right. this was for under a second, and then it centered again as normal. this has happened a few times today.
There was no feeling of gear resistance. more like a magnetic kind of pull.
The road wasn't cambered and even thought the tracking is out, it has been out for months and iv'e not felt this before.
Could it be a failing CV joint?
oh, its a 1.4, so I reckon we can rule torque steer out :P
