Ipod Connectivity

Hi all,
My '07 Vectra is blessed with a rubbish CD30 head unit and I want to connect my iPod, but not via an itrip. I've already got one and its pants to be honest.
Is changing the head unit the only way I'm going to be able get what I'm after? I still want the steering wheel controls to work too.
Can I just plug and play something like a CD30 MP3 head unit or is there more to it than that?

have you got an aux input ?

The later CD70 Navi units had aux input and it could be enabled with Tech 2 if it was a retrofit. I'd try on vectra-c.com and have a look at the how 2 guides. There's a couple for adding aux input to the headunits.
