1997 Vectra B 2.0dtl loss of power no fault codes

I have a 125,000 mile vectra that cost me £250. I have put about 12/13000 miles on it in 6mth with out any issues apart from a fanbelt tensioner and a couple of wear issues with the brakes.
Twice now its dropped in performance, it feels like the waste gates open as it goes flat and wont spool up. I have checked all the vac hoses and they are fine its got a new air filter, I have a fuel filter I am going fit tomorrow is there anything else that I can check. It hasn't brought the light on and its free from fault codes.
If its gonna be a complex or expensive fix its getting weighed in and I will go an buy something else as I subscribe to the joys and tribulations of bangernomics.
