Please help
Got a 52 plate Astra which had all sorts of problems with and iam ready to throw the towel in.
Its had a bit of a hard life but the timing belt has snapped and the head was rebuilt. Then the engine developed a bad smoking problem so the engine was changed.
Everything is good now but the EML light comes on and off and stores no fault, but i have had an auto spark look at it and he is saying that its an ghost fault in the ECU. The ecu has been away for testing and no fault found.
But iam thinking that they might no find a fault if its a ghost fault, the Ecu thinks there is a midfire in 1.3.4 cylinders when there is no misfire.
So anyone know what i can do now apart from scrapping it, good car when it works and wanna keep a hold of it.

There are lots of posts on various forums about the 1.8 petrol Z18XE engine ECU's. I've got that engine in a Zafira and it's caused me no end of grief.
