Hi All

First time on VX forum as posting on behalf of girlfriends brother.

He has had a 57 plate VXR from new and done around 50k miles. He has Remus exhaust system from arctic model fitted. He wants to get a bit more out of the car and has looked at upgrades from Thorney and Courtenay up to 225BHP, Does anyone have any experience of these?

The Courtenay upgrade seemingly offers more torque where as the Thorney one doesnt offer much more over standard?

Also I understand there are issues with piston damage on uprated and standard cars, reasons given as thermal shock and/or insufficient fuel injection capacity from standard kit?

I have tried looking through previous posts, so apologies if I am covering old ground

Please can you comment on the two upgrades mentioned and any alternatives out there and also whether upgrading dramatically increases the likelihood of engine failure, and if so what steps should be taken to reduce?

Best regards
Jon
