Not used my NA for a few weeks due to weather tried to start it the last few days and it wont start.

I have charged and checked the battery and pretty sure its not that. The car will bump start and runs absolutely fine when its started (just done a 25mile hoon to check) however as soon as its stopped it wont start again.

Been reading up on vx220 forum about the relay issue and that is a possible. Theres a youtube video linked on here that shows the noise etc mine is making. So i have removed the 3 boot relays today and sprayed them with wd40. I will leave them on top of the radiator overnight to dry out and will try the car with the relays back in tomorrow. I have also given all the connectors i can see under the bonnet a good spray too.

Thing is, if the car still wont start tomorrow what should i try next?? Anyone can assist?

Fixed it.

Replaced the battery and now it starts on the button.

When replacing the battery i also knackered the heating ducting so made some mods to that too. Hopefully might make the heating more effective!!!

They do seem to run the battery down pretty quickly if they are not used for a period.

Always worth checking out the earthing points are good.

Sorry, late I know but I've just seen this thread. Just for future reference I had this problem with mine after a four week lay up. When I went to start it; key in lights on; fuel pump primes up and the it would turn over at normal speed but not fire. I changed the plugs and sprayed the relays as you have done but still nothing. As said previously the VX is sensative to the battery condition and I only thought of recharging as I had flattened it trying to turn it over. I gave it a deep charge over two nights and it fired first time.
