Mayo on Corsa C 1.0
Discussion
My cousin wants to buy it from his friend, who has a genuine reason for sale. It's just been serviced by a mechanic but had a bit of light mayo under the (plastic) oil filler cap.
He cleaned it off and drove it a couple of miles to my house, whereupon it had reappeared. The coolant is slightly dirty, but not oily, and has remained at the correct level for as far as his friend can remember (at least 6 months).
There's no mayo on the dipstick. Does this sound like HGF? Thanks

Does it only ever do short journeys? Mine used to do that when I was only pottering round town. Give it a good long run to get any condensation out of the oil and go from there. If it's still there, give it an oil and filter change and see if it comes back. Mine was fine after a blast down the A55 for an hour.
Commonly found on the X10XE, X12XE and the X14xe Vauxhall engines if the car only does short journeys.
Take it for a decent run once every couple of weeks to help the condensation evaporate.
It also may be an idea to clean the crankcase and rocker cover breather hoses as these will be also full.
