11 Plate Astra Owners Handbrake Problems.

Walking through our local town centre this morning, OH and I saw an Astra rolling down the road at speed towards shoppers including a couple with a young baby in a pram. I had to shout very loudly to alert people and by then the car was about to crash into a shop. Luckily there were young fit people about who helped push the car back into a parking space. Soon the driver came back to her car and she explained that it was a company car and a large number of the fleet had problems with the electronic hand brake. Due to parking restrictions she should not even have been parked where she was.

Should leave it in gear when parked on a slope comes to mind.

Knowing other cars in the fleet have had problems surely her car should have been checked out and she should have refused to drive it until it was checked out.
