Why are signum parts so damn expensive

Hi All,
Looking to see if anyone can shed some light on my conundrum. I have an '04 3.2 Signum elite which has been an interim car for me for the last three years. Bought it to tide me over whilst i decided what to spoil myself with next and the damn thing is so uaeful and strong i am still using it now. My issue is that the exhaust seems to be blowing and having searched the internet for potential contenders to supply me with a new exhaust (or section of) the prices seem to be approx double of the same engined 3.2 vectra. I would be interested if anyone could enlighten me as to why this might be and also if my shrewd thinking of buying the veccie parts and trying to fit them instead would be genius or folly? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I can check on our EPC (i work at a VX main dealer) and see if the parts numbers much up. Get on Vectra-c.com. There is currently a signum exhaust for sale on there (from a 2.8) but should be ok. Otherwise speak to a specialist exhaust place. It will work out cheaper.
Also it depends which part you need as to whether you can buy teh Vec part. The exhausts on the hatch are different to the estate which are different to the signum. At least from CAT back, as they are different shapes

Vectra C 3.2 and signum 3.2 exhaust are very diffrent, if you get the vectra system it will not fit. The Centre section is £196+ vat for a gen item, both the rear boxes are attached and come as a single part which is why they retail at £375+vat so work out cheaper then the vectra rear boxes as they are almost £200 each.
