Well, just bought a 2008, Vectra SRi 1.9CDTi (150bhp) hatchback. It's done 78k in the hands of a company car driver and has just had £1k spent on a service and air-conditioning condensor amongst other stuff.

Anything I need to be aware of during ownership? It's a stop gap car and will be my motorway slag. Any advice appreciated.

hi, i have one .things to look out for are , dual mass flywheel rattle - new cluth and flywheel needed .,clogged up inlet manifold wich causes the bar to work the swirl flaps to fall off and cause the car to go into limp mode . there is a cheap fix if you google it . to reduce this problem get a egr valve blacking plate off ebay for £4 - it comes with a 10mm hole to let enough gases thru so the eml doesnt come on and stops the inlet clogging up .the 3rd injector wire can become loose and cause lumpy idle - cheap to fix. those are your main problems - other than that a very good mile muncher and good car . change your fuel filter evry 6 months , get clogged very easily (only paper)and dont use cheap supermarket fuel -contains bio diesel wich makes them do worse to the gallon and clogg the dpf filter more often .the engine is the alfa /fiat and very strong. love mine and would have another . as above join vectra c forum loads of info and happy to help .
