My son has a 85 nova which has had a lot of trouble with the distributor, for some reason the pins that hold the weights have come out or the springs have worn through the top of the pins, so after 2 reconditioned units i have decided that something has to be changed, does anyone know what is the easiest engine change for the car baring in mind economy, also would a different head fit so that a more up to date distributor would fit into the end of the camshaft i.e. a corsa B as these units are cheaper and more availiable than the old ones.

Thanks Kev

C18SEH is a good solid old lump, runs about 140hp. Get it from any old Cavalier SRI 130. Easy swap from memory.
