Hi gents,

Have never posted on the VX forum before just after a couple of tips.

My friends son has just started driving and used all his savings to buy a 2006 1.2 Corsa D for his 1st car. It suffers from a bad vibration and heavy feeling through the steering when turning to the right. A dealer informed them that it was probably the electronic steering column at fault which with parts and labour was the best part of £1000!- Too much for them to pay.

They sourced a second hand column which has ignition barrel and everything from a breaker and asked me to fit it. I am a competent mechanic for another manufacturer and just wanted to know what sort of job it was , how long it would take and any tips.

Thanks in advance.

Vauxhall standard labour time is 1.2 hours. Its fairly straight forward, won't need to mess about with ignition barrels tho, just use exsisting one.
