130 is the bhp...

The SRi is the 1.8 16v with 120bhp (ish)
The SRi130 is the 2.0 16v with 130bhp (ish)
The SRi150 is the 2.2 16v with 155bhp (ish)

On a Vectra of that age, common issues are:

Front anti-roll bar drop links
Rear trailing arm bushes (x4)
Rear anti-roll bar bushes
Rear main arm bushes
Brakes vibrations
Emissions
Play in the steering - track rod ends, inner steering arm, column universal joint
Basically, they're ok cars but with the miles tend to get a bit tired.

I'd buy a Mk4 Astra instead... or something with more than a months MOT as it quite quickly become a money pit, that or get somebody knowledgable to check it over or even better, stick it in for a pre-MOT check before you hand over the cash. Price wise, I wouldn't pay more than £500 as a rough guide.

AFAIK the model designation goes

130 - 1.8 petrol or 2.2 diesel
140 - 2.0 petrol
150 - 2.2 petrol

Where are my manners?
Thank you gentlemen.
Ended up buying a Calibra. '97 2.0 16v and it's survived my first commute, despite my getting horribly lost.

Slack as a <something witty> handbrake, erratic idle, pulling away it either stutters or lurches forward. Figure it's ICV or coolant temp sensor or both from reading around?
Can't really afford to fix it up at the moment anyway, hope it survives till the end of the month.

Officially a "powertrain engineer" now biggrin
