Morning all im currently contemplating a VX220 2.2, just wondering who everyone is insured with? ive had a quote from the insurers of the TT and they have said that they will insure me for an additional £100 but i want to shop around and see if i can get it cheaper anyways as i pay a pretty large premium as it is being 18 with limited experience. Been shopping around again this morning and haven't been able to get much luck - can anybody recommend any companies to take a look at/try? dont mind it being a limited milage policy or classic etc etc as im going to buy myself a shed to go to work in if i manage to get a reasonable quote from an insurer. Thanks in advance!!

If you're over 25 then CCI Insurance are your best bet.

They managed to insure me on a VX220 Turbo at 27 for £340.

Holy smokes!!! Hope you have deep pockets. Elephant insured me on the N/A variant when I was 22 and that was just short of a grand frown

Dont think you will get much better than your quote at £100 over a TT.

I'm with admiral aswell.I just renewed on Sunday and I'm 24,4 years no claims and it's just over a grand but I added my gf on as a named driver whose 23,4 years no claims and it dropped it £600!!

I bought mine when I was 19 with 2 years NCB, Admiral were the cheapest at just under £2.5k. In my experience you will probably struggle to beat Admiral as a young driver with limited experience.

I assume CCI is competition car insurance? Never heard of them and that was the most likely from a good old google search...

Disregard this, realised how few miles i had done. Knocked the mileage down to 3000 per year and reduced premium to £276, result.

Another thumbs up for CCI from me. I am 27 and live slap bang in the middle of Cardiff and I am paying £750. It could have been about £690 if I didn't reduce the excess from £600 down to £400!

Admiral Multicar it with you folks car(s) too, if your folks are up for it of course. My VX is £200 a year with them but I am double your age :-)
