Removal of Vectra C Air Con Panel / Nokia In Car Kit

Evening Folks,
My 07 Vectra C came with a Nokia CK-7W car kit and I want it out. I only need it taken out to the point where it cant be seen anymore as its a bit of an eyesore. The big metal bit which holds the actual phone seems to be bolted into the side of where the air con/heater panel is. I was thinking if I could remove the panel I could get to where its bolted to. I've taken out the headunit without too much trouble, but I cant see how the air con panel is removed. If you pull it forward there is some give towards the top of it but the bottom bit wont budge and I dont want to start snapping bits of plastic.
Any help would be grealty appreciated.

Pull the ashtray out, then you can pull the lower storage tray out, once that's out, the panel will pull forward and out.

The tray and panel will need a little gentle persuasion, be brave!
