I'm not going to be there; I've had a really bad chest infection and flu virus since last Friday, and don't think that I will be well enough to attend

Even if by some miracle I did feel well enough on Saturday, having spent the last 7 days in bed barely able to read a book, I think it would be overdoing things a little.

Plus; I'm on antibiotics so can't drink

Please don't let the loss of my sparkling company spoil your evenings and do your best to drink my share of the alcohol!
