Black Tie and Pie

Will 2008 see the return of the pie?

Ever wondered what some PHers look like? Always promised yourself that you'd go to a PH event one day? Ever wondered if Vixpy was the love god he claims? If you have answered yes to any of these questions then listen up.

For those that don't know, PistonHeads holds an annual black tie dinner in November with dancing, a few awards, a few non alcoholic drinks* - and this year sees a welcome return to a dinner of pie. The event will be charity-focussed and will feature a few new ways that you can donate throughout the evening.

Big news this year is the new venue. We'll be heading off to Hellidon Lakes in Daventry, it's in a great location with some nice driving roads from the motorways, private PH parking and fantastic facilities. The best thing about this hotel is the fact that we will fill all of the available bedrooms meaning that anyone you bump into will either be hotel staff or a PHer.

Hellidon even has it's own bowling alley so let's see if we can get some early evening competitions going. This year we have a new band too, after listening to comments made after last years event it seemed most wanted a band more suited to an event like BTaP so this year we welcome the Texan Peacocks. Now I hope they won't mind me saying this, but they play a lot better than their name would suggest!

More details on how to book your tickets and rooms will follow - we are just finalising room rates as I write. So, when does this all happen? Block Saturday 8th November out in your diaries NOW, and keep an eye on the home page for further details as tickets will, as usual, be in limited supply.

See you there

With only 110 bedrooms, tickets really will be limited this year yikes

Bugger that risk - I'm sending Sue a HUGE bouquet of flowers daily from now, (and a case of guinness to Kinky just to be sure she 'looks after me'wink)

I think whatever happens, a fresh contingent of hamsters with a relief crew on standby will be the order of the day when the tickets go on sale.
May be an idea to pull Ted of janitor duties and give RacingPete a fresh case of Jolt Cola to be on the safe side. hehe

Don't worry about the rooms- with people choosing to head home or stay in cheaper accomodation we have never filled 110 rooms.

Don't worry- it should work out just fine smile
