... is catching up with all the people. Really, really nice!

I turned up v.late so started the event sober and hopefully this means that next year I won't have people saying how I spoke to them this year.. but couldn't rememeber! Hmm, or maybe not?! smile

The venue gets another thumbs up from me (even though the food was awful). Feel a bit guilty about not using any of the facilities though! Thought the breath test thingy on the way out in the morning was good - probablty an incentive from the hotel to keep everyone back drinking tea, coffee and lunching! smile

Did anyone else get their bill and ask to see the tickets for the drink? Initially I thought there's no way I could have drunk that much so asked to see the tickets. "Yep, that's mine. Yep, yep, yep... " through the whole lot! I'm either a pisshead, or bought a lot of people drinks smile

Have to agree with Pikey on this one, £60 a head, for food that was abysmal, we eat in top London Restaurants for this sort of money, good company though, had a good laugh.

Because Garlick was there hehe

The drinks were extortionately expensive - £4.20 for a single vodka and slimline tonic!

BT&P is great isn't it. I wasn't really looking forward to this year, but I think it was the best one I've been to (so far)

It was my first one, really was great, I thought I'd met just about everyone, until I've looked on here and realised these loads I didn't meet!

Wasn't impressed my the food either, though the venue was good apart from that.

I wouldn't mind going back to check out the spa at some point cos all I did was sit in the bar, was still rather good though biggrin

thumbup BTaP 2008 - I think so!

yes Once again, the venue let the BTaP organisers down with the food on the night - some of our table had huge bits of pork, others had tiny ones, as someone said - some from a pig, some from a piglet hehe

But what the hell, another completely top night, with great people biggrin

The food was awful. Some veg on the plate instead of just a carrot and two turnips would have been nice.

I'm going to have to train Mrs CJ to drink lager at £3 a pint instead of large white wines at six nicker a go.

We were wondering what the white thing was, but agree that the food was awful and not up to scratch.

Nice to meet you BTW.

for me BT&P is about the people - yes the food wasnt great, and i heard some very negative things about the wine (which i avoided), but thats not why I go to it.

It was good to catch up with people, and put some new faces to old names wink

There were turnips and carrots on the plates? i dont recall seeing those. I wasn't that impressed by the food either, soup was nice but ended up filling up on bread when i couldnt be bothered to chew the pork anymore. Don't like coffee puds either, although the icecream was nice...so nice infact we/i pinched someone elses too!
However, the company more than made up for this minor setback. Very nice to meet you all, thankyou for a good intro to BTaP.
Did anyone else get a raging headache after drinking the wine?? No?....just me then. Probably shouldn't have mixed it with cider and strawpedos
