Being one of the many who doesn't own a DJ of their own, I shall need to be hiring one for this little soirée.
Obviously the High Street gives a choice - M&S, Burtons, Moss Bros - but any other advice?

Last time I went with a Burtons one which smelt odd and wasn't cut terribly well. I'm a relatively standard/normal shape so no specialists required.

Good value City of London-located ones would be ideal!

Pop down to M&S & buy one.

Excellent value for money & well made, & after a couple of years it will have paid for itself compared to hiring onebiggrin

See you there

That didn't occur to me. You're right, after a couple of uses it's paid for itself... unless you lose it or something wink

Choice from £60 for the jacket or £129 for a suit. I shall wander down to Moorgate tomorrow...

Better still pop down to Asda and get one, it'll have paid for itself on the first wear and at the end of the day all you do is put it on a couple of times per year, look good for half an hour then throw food/wine all down it, get bladdered, do a John Travolta with the jacket, get sick round the trouser legs and then wake up minus the jacket anyway. That also has the added adcvantage that if your name's George you stand atleast a fighting chance of getting your Jacket back the next morning (along with 6 others) because some caring soul will have put your name in it.

All booked and confirmed Nick, just couldn't be arsed demanding a logo and my guess is the management have enough have enough on their plate placating those with logo envy to worry about the rest of us wink

I've put the skirt into retirement for a couple of years, but was considering alternatives so I might turn up in either full sikh evening wear or maybe Hungarian national dress wink

Funny thing is I have my own but will be hiring one this year as I'm too fat. I probably should hire out my own one to offset the cost! smile

Lets face it no matter how much you pretend yourself otherwise you ain't never getting back into the old one wink Solution is hire fatty size wear for event, wear fatty size, return nicely cleaned unworn skinny size, hire shop check you haven't trashed it but never check the sizes. Voila new fatty suit wink

Tried that - I took it in but the man said "no satnav, wrong colour and it's a manual". I told him when he sold it to me he himself said none of that would make a difference when I came to trade in so why is he now giving me such a poor trade in price? He said the market's changed and noone's buying them. I don't know, bloody dealers - they just change their story to whether you're buying or selling. hehe
