Well, thanks to a lovely friend on PH, I might be breaking my BTAP cherry this year

although, I couldnt stretch to staying at the usual place so I would be looking for alternative accomadation

If anyone has any recommendations, I would be more than happy to hear them

There is a couple... Saracens Head in Towcester has hotel accomodation, not sure what the costs are, best bet is the Travel lodge in Towcester (may come under Silverstone on search thingys) A couple of people stayed there last year. was quite cheap apparently

Nice thought Di but Matt might take umbrage wink ...

however, even at £26 for the room ... once you factor in two taxis, not to mention actually trying to find one at 1am (I waited over an hour in reception with LilacWine for hers last year) ... then you end up missing about 4 hours of the evening as you realise at 1am that the party is just starting to get interesting, then you miss not having the breakfast in the morning but you have to pay £8 for the Travel Lodge one instead ... you end up saving about £40 but missing a load of fun.

We waited about an hour for the taxi last year, it turned up late and had been booked in advance.

The annoyance soon went, when it was discovered that Ali G/Borat (real name Greg) was one of our passengers.

We are considering a room this year for most of the above reasons.

Cheers for the email Mark, sorry I didnt get back to you before hand smile

After my friend twisting my arm until it hurt, I decided I would go and knackers to the costs

So I started doing my research and what not only to find out its on the same day/weekend as the RAC Rally which Woolleson and myself have had planned for about 3 months...the full day, from Leeds right up north frown

Have a good time everyone
