I do like winning competitions, so here's one I've set myself.

Ooo, I think I'm the winner!

I might have won that, as I wanted to treat Mrs K to a birthday treat, so wanted the biggest and best suite available.

But they would not let kids stay in the suites

You could of perhaps disguised that fact.

It's a bit of a shame as there was so much room in there. Would have thought it ideal.

As a suggestion (for a future birthday treat with kids in tow), Cowley Manor is the most fantastic hotel. The owners were fed up of luxury hotels not allowing kids, so made their own luxury hotel where kids were welcomed... or rather taken care of in a way that won't p*ss off you or anyone else.

Expensive, but absolutely love it. Need to book 6 months in advance. More of my ramblings here

Aaarr but could you hear the racing when you were in bed (sunday mid morning), reminded me of Le Mans.

Yes. Ticked the box that said "hear the Silverstone cars in the morning Sir?" That was right next to "morning newspaper". You get that with the upgraded room you see

You see that just makes me jealous... think ours was about the size of your bathroom (not that I probably spent more than about 3hrs in it between arriving and leaving again).

Going to have to do BT&P again next year now if only to try to trump your efforts.

Ah, but we paid for it. We bought the same room from the PH shop like everyone else; it was only when her ladyship was checking in and I was parking the car (hence out of earshot) that she requested the upgrade!

Bloody nice room, but like you we weren't in it for enough time.

Oh yes I knew that, I just mean I will be clearing the credit card next year in preparation for a "room-off" now that you have set the standard.

How long did it take you to twig it wasn't the standard £100 room then...?

When I saw the look in her eye! It was one of those "what are you smiling like *that* for? What have you done?" moments.
