I know the obvious answer to this question is to sit in the bar and imbibe a Guinness or 10, and watch the Rugby.

However, sitting watching rugby holds no appeal whatsover, and whilst sitting in the bar all afternoon does hold a LOT of appeal - I will have Kinky junior with me, which means the poor lad will be bored stiff in 10 mins flat.

So I'm wondering if anyone knows what local activities there are on Satuday lunchtime/afternoon?

There's nothing on at Silverstone (unfortunately), so I suppose we could go shopping at Bicester. Anyone have any other suggestions.

Many thanks in advance,

K

There's a possibility of a few tasty cars in the car park for him to have a look at.

And if he asks nicely, some of those not ensconced in the bar might take him out for a ride...

Jeremy - that's a really kind offer - thank you - but he's only 5.

Mind you ..... his dad is an even bigger kid (nudge nudge wink wink)

Considering Google is my best friend - he suggested Warwick Castle as the best option, and only 37.5 miles away - so I think I've found the answer.

As an aside - he has to bring a teddy bear with him, from school, whenever they go away, and take pictures, etc (exactly the same idea as Carters TransporTed). So if you see a teddy bear on your bonnet and a 5-year old posing and someone else taking a pic - that will be us.

And I can assure you permission will be asked first.

I would say that would count as permission being asked. Click away

Many thanks Al - again - much appreciated.

But again - I'd rather have owners specific permissions first. I'd be mortified to have hacked off a PHer in any way - and even more by leaving a scratch - so assurances will be made that all will be scratch free!

Me wearing a teddy? That'd be in the Hag at the teddybears picnic website, where you can see me do almost everything, and for a small fee,

everything

Is it just watching Rugby on TV that holds no appeal, or just rugby in general? Northampton Saints are playing at home that day against Saracens, only 10 mins down the road from the hotel

Matt - all of the above unfortuantely.

Even when my beloved Irish team are playing (six nations for example), I still don't watch. I don't have the slightest interest in rugby whatsoever.

Ideally I'd need an activity to keep an active 5-year-old going. I think Warwick Castle will do the trick thumbup

What about www.wicksteedpark.co.uk/

It is in Kettering (Northants), which I think will be about 40 mins away.
