As I am in car limbo at present (read 1999 Passat Estate - Turbo Sport Tiptronic though ) I'm thinking of hiring some form of exotica (car!!!) for the BT&P.

Alternatively I could forget about the car and put my money into copious amounts of champagne and other assorted wibble juice!

So should I rent a super dooper motor (anyone know of a good company to use who hire out such beasties) or save the wonga for some serious alcohol?

Answers on a postcard please, to: Gary Hunt, Wibble Mansions, Alcoshire, DT1 1DT.

For rent: one shiny shiny Porsche 944 Turbo...
Seriously, wouldnt bother. I'd blag a lift, and get hammered. You're going to get fairly pished anyway, so you'd have to drive the car with a monster hangover.

If you fancy doing it anyway, then www.funcarhire.co.uk sorted me out a few weekends ago. Which was nice.

Definitely, dragging yourself home with a hangover from hell is bad enough in your own motor, but having to pay extra for the privellege and not enjoying it could only make your head throb more.

Editted to say, I'm in a similar situation at the moment and can't see me getting my new toy before BT&P, so rather than bring the 172 I'm thnakfully coming in my roomy's Tuscan

once you and everyone else are pi$$ed up in the bar, no one will care what car you've got anyway

I dunno. You know what they say, 'the car's the star'

I'd choose a good blip and a sports car over alcohol any time, far more fun to be had.

I'd choose the car TBH: Get down to dream machines and hire and Exige S or a Tiv for the two days and spend Saturday morning and all day Sunday driving around - the reduction of alcohol consumed as funds have been diverted to the car will mean you're not too pi$$ed to drive the arse off it the next day too - are there any end-of-year track days going on on the 19th at Silverstone?

But I guess if you can only really let your hair down when full of booze, you'd be better off getting trollied and turning up in a.n.other car.

Track! Good idea! Could also check out Bedford Autodrome or Santa Pod which aren't too far away.

If the drink is as expensive as last year you could even make a saving!

I will. I like a good car park wander.

And besides, it's the driving passion you'll get and is what brought us all together.
I'm also still thinking of a BTaP Blip but just not had time to organise one yet. I'll be going for a blip published here or not. Don't see the point in immediatly getting drunk, don't need that to have fun.

Save your money for the drinking - Unless you hire a Diablo or an F40 or something it will go totally unnoticed in a car park full of sports cars.

Damn right mate, in fact I would say the car that attracted the most attention last year was Bomber Denton's Capri.
