Loads of people have already asked what mad cap idea can I come up with for next years event as this years escapade has raised so much money. My first reaction was to say "sod off I've done my bit it's over to someone else next year" However having given it some thought and pondered a few options I believe that the whole justgiving.com option has been such a success that perhaps there is room for a repeat performance, I don't really fancy going it alone again and think it might be a better idea to involve a few other slightly unstable individuals to add to the event. I've thought about a few options but the best and most practical I can come up with so far is Hot Coals Firewalking, I think we should be able to persuade a venue to go along with the idea and have dug about and found atleast one group that would help organise it. So lets throw it open onto the floor and get some feedback or possible other ideas?

How about we all dress up in some car related fancy dress and do some sort of fun run? There is a Santa's Dash for Cash in Nottingham in a couple of weeks to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

My thoughts were to do something a little odd, and a little extreme, but that would not interfere too much with the afternoons chatting and drinking, and could be pulled off in a small enough area so as to not interfere with the normal goings on of a venue. I went through a few ideas about absailing, parachuting, bungy etc etc but they all seem a bit samey now days and don't really offer anything to the event as they would have to happen beforehand etc. Likewise there are lots of people there who are there to drink and chat and whose main focus is not the charitable side of things (of which I'm one) but the firewalking thing just strikes me a feasible in a car park and an ace talking point for the evening.

I had a similar idea a while ago to raise some dosh for a worthy cause. Wanted to look into the possibility of doing a TVR endurance run. Lots of miles & lots of cars from right across the spectrum – Wedges, Griffs, S’s, Cerbs, Chims and all the new stuff.

Given that there have always been reliability ‘concerns’ surrounding the marque I thought it would be good to do a really long & gruelling run on all types of road, over a fairly large distance. Say around the UK coastline or something in a given number of days. Not a race but a test. I’m sure that plenty of cash could be raised if the profile of such a fundraising event could be elevated sufficiently.

Perhaps even get TVR themselves involved? It would be good publicity for them (provided at least some of the cars make it ) & bloody good fun for all involved.

”Eh up mate, will you sponsor me to drive my TVR round the UK without breaking down?”

Splutters into beer “Sure thing – here’s 20 quid……bloody idiot….”

Gotta be worth a go?

Apologies for the different login.....

If the lump in my breast turns out to be nothing, then I will seriously consider having my head shaved.

There's PHers all over the country..what about a sponsered relay. You know, a Lands End to John O'Groats in a day, each Pher doing a smallish leg of the journey in their neck of the woods?

Oooh yeah, interesting naked poses with P&J's
Though, that does mean that only women PHers will buy it- or vain chappies, so what can men buy to contribute too?
