Ok all you washing/ironing specialists, what's the secrets to getting a crease free shirt to BTaP?

I have a 100% cotton shirt and it's a right arse to get crease free. Even my trusty Morrisons have returned it with creases.

So, what are the secrets to looking fresh and crease free on the night?

Sainsbury's used to sell some 'starch' type cotton crisper called Dip or something. You add it to the final rinse as you would a fabric softner and it makes cottons easy to iron and crips.

Probably called something else now - have a look on the shelves.

Try washing it, with a slow spin and then hanging up to dry on a hangar (sp?) and iron whilst still very slighty damp

At the end of the evening, I doubt if anyone will notice, or care. Have fun you guys.

Already dead and never very good at ironing anyway Now if my great aunt was still here, I wouldn't even have had to ask

60 degree wash on it's own? And how do I spot a slow spin on my machine

Di's right, iron when slightly damp or use the spray as well as the steam on the iron.Always worked for me on parade shirts in the RAF.

Do you have a'crease free' or 'non iron' wash cycle on machine? failing that a wool, acrylic or silk programme should spin slower.

Seriously, a hot (ish) steam iron, spray starch, and iron the shirt when it is slightly moist.

(oh and there are irons in the room, so i won't need to bring my own!! lol)

Spray Starch

I won't be bothering with that I'll be the one creased up in the corner.
