Check out the photos from the last two years. That will give you a good idea what to expect..

Expect people to be either leaning at odd angles, or sliding toward the floor slavering Expect some people to nod off and miss at least the soup course

I'd ignore the photos if I were you. I probably won't decide until the day, but certainly will be evening dress.

Hi Katwoman! My advice would be to wear black, my colour (not) of choice. Having said that you would look great in ivory (though completely impractical for a night of covorting). You can spill anything over it, roll around on the floor in it and providing you choose a good fabric, it won't get too wrinkled either. Best get one with a good neck line so that if you bend over people don't get to see your finer assets I have a lovely dress by Joseph that you could sleep in. It is a wrap over. Unfortunately I wore it on my birthday and decided to provide a little light hearted entertainment playing, 'now you see it, now you don't'. Everyone, bar my ex, found it hugely entertaining

Being a black tie affair, I would opt for something mid-calf or full length (only if it comes complete with a very generous side split). I would go for a fabric that drapes rather than hugs as even those of us with the flatest of stomachs tend to bloat after five pints or more on top of a three course meal

I can't believe that Jess hasn't found this thread yet... in fact I'm surprised she didn't start it!

Cat (if I may be so bold?) you look like a girl that has been to a reasonable amount of Black Tie dos... you also look like a girl who knows her own mind... so wear what you feel comfortable being in.

Day time in the bar is just casual jeans type stuff.

See you there, I'll be the one in the dirty yellow car with stickers all over it, looking my usual slightly dishevelled self and possibly wearing a stupid hat... my wife on the other hand will no doubt look gorgeous and divert any attention from all of my shortcomings

No, as I recall, the floor was at an odd angle..

Edited to add: nothing wrong with a tactical doze/power nap. Hands up anyone else that was still partying, (albeit in a somewhat subdued manner) at 5am?
