I am getting a bit worried, I have read all the threads and every word on the website and links...no mention of pie, except in the title of Black Tie & Pie. Only mention of food is 3 course dinner. I hope it's pie for all 3 courses.

Do we get pie?

"Pie" is used in the loosest sense of the word!

I seem to remember a disclaimer at one point that said that the term "pie" is used to indicate food in general and the management reserve the right to not serve actual pie as such.

It's a bit like the "F" in cod!

I know there ain't no "F" in cod, well it's the same with the pie.

as Mrs Miggins once said "We don't serve 'pies' anymore! My clientele consider 'pies' uncouth"

But they do have quiche on their menus.

Marie Antoinette famously said of the poor "Let them eat cake" and we all know what happened to her.....

If she had stopped and thought before opening her bouche, she would have said "Let them eat Pie" and it all would have had a happier ending.

Ted, hopefully the hotel has an extensive wine cellar ?

I have to warn you that Mrs N17 TVR, Mrs Seasider, Mrs Tdf & Mrs Satman are like locusts and will devour any crops of white wine in their path.

Good, as long as they leave the red alone.

Alas once the white has gone, the red will be next.

Vintage or Albanian it won't matter, they break the neck off the bottle and just devour the contents.

As long as you keep back you won't be hurt, but whatever you do if there is only one bottle when one or more of them are in the vicinity don't interfere, they will turn on each other snarling and growling, biting and spitting.

It's horrible........and once they have reached the point of no return, they will start to sing disgusting sea shanties and the language they use will turn your stomach.

Then the bare knuckle fighting will begin for the last bottle..........I'm not sure I can go through it again.
