As someone who'd like to go to BTaP but missed out because I wasn't quick enough off the mark (damn you, damn you all to hell..... ), I was wondering if there would be any point in having a stand-by list of people in case some those who have booked subsequently find they can't make it?

If so may I thrust my arm high in the air and shout ooh ooh ooh ooh, me me me me. I'd need two as there'd be no way the missus would let me go unaccompanied.

Just a thought?

There is a list but last year it wasn't until quite close to the event that people found they couldn't make it after all.

There's just no telling I'm afraid.

As has been said, in previous years it's in the last week or two that cancellations usually occur. I'll add you to the list (a cancellation is likely to be tickets + room so no need to kip in the car) Don't give up hope (and I'll try and find a bigger venue still for next year )

If I could squeeze more people in then I would but the function room has a fixed capacity. Entry has to be limited to ticket holders to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

Maybe you should have two events next year. The traditional "Black Tie & Pie", with sit-down meal etc. and limited to 200-odd, and "No Tie or Pie", a huge standing-room-only affair held in a marquee with a bar in the corner and a field nearby to kip in.

Oh, hold on, that's PistonFest, isn't it?

I even double double checked with Vicki last night that she definitely wanted to go and wasn't doing so simply to pacify me... so I could maybe offer CARZEE her ticket... but apparently she is intrigued to meet others as barking mad as me!

Nah - she still isn't into the "car" thing - it's only the people she likes... though she does quite like Shady's Aston (yea - who doesn't!)

I'm still well up for E.Hoon 05

Hi Ted,

If the standby list is still open would it be possible to add my name on the end? :beg:

short notice, no problem.

Thanks,

We might be in luck. Just double checking things and it looks like I've double counted a few people....
