Although I am in fear of inviting Trinny and Suzannah style comments (the ladies will understand guys ) are short dresses completely unacceptable in a black tie situation? Are these deemed cocktail dresses and as such would be 'frowned upon'?

Good grief I really cannot believe I am asking this, I blip the throttle on the downshift y'know! (she said, desperately grasping for credibility on a motoring site!)

But what Podie was wearing would be fine on a woman

What Podie was wearing is certainly not acceptable on a woman. Not one under 75 anyway. Always thought he was an old tart

So then Ace, how short are we talking.

Calves, Knees or Greyhound (inch from the hare before anyone asks)

Seedy - you are dirty little urchin...

Ace-T - I'm sure you'll look stunning whatever you decide to wear..

Pies - I REALLY worry about you...

..and before anyone else says anything about my attire last year, I would like to point out that I was drunk.

... and being drunk is NOT and excuse, it is a REASON!

Thanks Mrs F

Was hoping for a reply from one of the ladies, the replies from the PH gentlemen are all very nice (and very soothing to the ego of course, are due ) but they aren't exactly unbiased when it comes to wanting to see women in as little as possible. Bless 'em!

You got a frock sorted yet?
