BTaP 2011 - Pies Matter

Fancy joining us for our annual black tie gathering? It's not too late you know...

Not PH Towers, this is Tortworth Court
Not PH Towers, this is Tortworth Court
Tickets have been selling well for BTaP 2011 and, for those who have bought already, you'll be pleased to know that we have already started to send out the tickets, meaning you can expect to receive in the next few days*. Have we ever sent tickets out so soon? I'm not sure, so it's up to you to keep them in a safe place for a few months until the big day arrives on Saturday November 19th.

To continue the theme of being ahead of ourselves, we can also confirm that (due to popular demand) the pie will remain as individual steak and ale as per 2010.

To anyone who doesn't know what BTaP is and wonders why the pie is important, remember that pies matter on PH. In all seriousness, the food will be great this year and we look forward to eating three courses yet being able to remember absolutely none of them the next day. Don't forget that we also have PHer Bomber Denton on the 'ones and twos' playing a fantastically eclectic mix of great music (all on vinyl, he asks me to mention) throughout the night. He has played globally to great acclaim and we are very pleased that he has found space in his diary to entertain us at BTaP11; we can't wait to see what he has in his record box for the night.

As per usual, BTaP will be supporting Cancer Research and to help raise a good amount for the charity we will have the now-traditional raffle. A selection of easily distinguished coloured tickets will be on sale throughout the evening, which may win you some rather special prizes. If you have any items, services, experiences or anything at all that would make a good raffle prize and you would like to donate towards the cause, please get in touch with me. All donations will be (very) gratefully received.

Tickets please......
Tickets please......
If you too fancy a night of good food, good clothes, good drinking and good music it's not too late to join us. Tickets are still available in the PistonHeads shop and rooms are still available at our rather fantastic location at Tortworth Court. Tickets are priced at £75 and we recommend that you search the internet for the best hotel deal, or contact the hotel directly on 01454 263000

Thanks to all who have bought tickets in support of the event so far, and we can't wait to welcome you all to Tortworth Court in November.

For more BTaP information see the previous story here

* Australian buyers may have to wait a little longer, you know who you are!

Shockingly, and to my shame, I have never attended BTaP. This will change this year!

Will I have to wait until I get to the UK to pick up a ticket or has it been posted surface mail (in which case I might get it before the event)?

I think only once have my tickets arrived before the event so it will not be the first time. I look forward to contributing again in about 8 weeks time biggrin

My heart sank when I saw "Tortworth Court". I've had the misfortune of staying there for work a few times.

By the end of the night you'll all be so legless you won't notice the damp, the hot water that doesn't always run hot and some rude members of staff, so it's all good! biggrin

We enjoyed it at Tortworth last year, and the feedback was good too. I hope we didn't get an unusually good night as 2010 made us rebook for 2011.

I may possibly not have been particularly sober on either the Friday or Saturday nights but my recollection is that the staff were all up for a laugh and joined in with the fun of BTaP, if RWR drinking games did not upset them they should be fine. I didn't notice any damp and had plenty of hot water.

My only suggestion would be to tone down a couple of the road bumps on the way in.

Yep... we were there Friday and Saturday night last year and thought it was spot on... now which one of you got our Room 57 this year? We've had to upgrade to the one with the outdoor hot tub and 60" plasma!
