BTaP 2011 - Tickets On Sale 22/7/2011

Black Tie and Pie is back - are you ready for it?

More drink! Yes that's exactly what I need...

Summer, it's always a treat. Watching the rain fall down the window makes one feel proud to be British. As we revel in the mid-summer season it can only mean one thing...BTaP is upon us once again and the annual rush for tickets starts here.

Looking outside the window of PHHQ we can see a few hardy souls that have been camping at the door waiting for the sale to start. That's rather idiotic of them seeing as we sell online, but we admire the commitment, and the wait is (almost) over as you will be able to buy a ticket tomorrow at midday.

Nobody enjoys change, so with that in mind we will be returning to the fantastic Tortworth Court Hotel in Wotton-Under-Edge for BTaP11 and, thanks to inisting that Riggers takes a pay cut, we have managed to keep the ticket price at £75 for another year. You don't need to be David Dickinson to realise that's a bargain. The date has been fixed on Saturday 19th November, meaning that (for the first time in a while) we will not clash with fireworks parties.

For those unfamiliar with the BTaP format, allow us to explain. We meet at the hotel at 19.00 for pre-dinner drinks wearing black tie (BT). Shortly afterwards we head through to dine on a three-course meal with cow-based pie (aP)* as the main course. For your enjoyment, the PH team will stand to give a pre- and post-dinner speech, along with some awards and perhaps some forced humour. A raffle will also take place where some amazing prizes can be won and all proceeds from the raffle will go to the BTaP charity Cancer Research. Later (much later) in the evening an auction will be held with proceeds going to the same charity.

But that's not all, oh no. We will also have a superstar DJ on the 'ones and two's (we hear that's how the kids describe record players these days). Step aside Tony Blackburn, not tonight Fluff Freeman.....BTaP welcomes for 2011 - PHer BOMBER DENTON! DJ Denton (as he's not known) will play all the tunes we know, from classic indie to funky jazz. A typical DJ he is not, but he will get us all dancing. Be warned though, he has ordered a smoke machine...

Oooh, new ticket design. Fancy.
Oooh, new ticket design. Fancy.

So, if you have ever fancied eating pie, spending some money in aid of a good cause, partaking of a few drinks and wearing something smart then come and join us. As per usual the tickets are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis so make sure you are ready to buy from 12.00 tomorrow over at the PH Shop.

Full hotel details are as follows: Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Wotton-Under-Edge, South Gloucestershire. GL12 8HH. Room bookings need to be made directly with the hotel by calling 01454 263000

* A vegetarian option with less cow is also available

Room booked! Gone for a connoisseur this time. It's only 20-ish quid more than a standard.
