Time to sell my HPC :(
Discussion
I'm feeling a little sad today.
I promised my wife when I bought the car a couple of years ago that it would be a relatively short-term purchase - had some spare cash earning very little interest and always dreamed of having a 7, but I bought it on the basis that when baby number 3 was imminent and my new business was starting that owning two 'weekend' cars is one too many in London.
I can't sell the 205 GTI as I've had her for too long, but my goal is to be in a position to buy and build a new Duratec engined Caterham in a couple of years.
I've absolutely loved owning the car, apart from an expensive period last summer when I was unable to use her due to poor-running issues. After many replacement parts it turned out to be a dying ECU, so I bit the bullet and had a new 3D MBE ECU fitted.
The XE engine is brilliant in a light weight car, bags of grunt in any gear. After I had the tracking sorted I've never felt there was a problem with understeer or lack of delicacy which is an accusation sometimes thrown at the XE engined cars. The induction roar from the carbs is fantastic.
Anyway, not sure if I'm allowed to link to it, but the ad is here -

I hope she goes to a good home!

Yep - she's gorgeous, the colour works really well in the flesh.
I've never driven a car that get so much uniformly positive attention. I get waved out of side roads, everyone from little kids to grandparents remark how nice it is - range from "sick car, mate!" to "isn't that a jolly thing"
Canada's a big country, surely you could get away with it
