caterham owners near chelmsford
Discussion
With the sun shining this way and my 41st year underway, I think the time has come to go native. I am after a caterham - will have to be an SV or CSR to cope with my height (love the look of a CSR 260). Are there any owners in my area (Essex) who can spare a little time? A ride in a 911 turbo as payment? Thanks.

There is a breakfast club type meeting at The Hare in Roxwell on May 7. I will probably go in my R300 (rather than my 911) this time and you'd be welcome to try it for size- standard S3 with composite seats, lowered floors and the pedal box moved forward - it suits me at a bit more than 6'2" but is less accommodating of the larger of frame. There were lots of Caterhams there last time so you may also be able to find a helpful person with an SV or CSR. Failing that, Caterham south are only three quarters of an hour away and are very

It was quite informal last time, there was a range of things between what I think was a bull nose Morris and a Ferrari Daytona. Plenty of Porsches, Astons, Morgans, Ferraris.

Sorry, not sure when I'll get there, depends when my 9 month old wakes up, hoping to be there about 10.

Terrific. See you around then. (Neil)
Neil, sorry, I sent you a message this morning, according to the chap with the black bike engined missile, we missed each other by a couple of minutes. Hope there were some others to look at- they'd all gone by the time I'd got there but fortunately the 250 SWB hadn't!rubystone said:
Not just any old SWB but Moss's car. I was there - I hear the girly Caterham boys all cried off erly at the first sight of rain
When I saw it from a distance, I just assumed it had started life as a 250GTE, didn't appreciate it was the real deal until later - was amazed it was out and about at some random pub meet in Essex in this weather - I mean, look how my girly car ended up What car were you in?

You were the tall chap who pitched up in the black R300 later on? It looked very nice indeed. What car were you in?
The 250 wasn't random - Terry Hoyle looks after it for its owner and I'm told Essex FOC are now also going to meet at the Hare, I didn't get a chance to chat to Terry today to find out how he became aware of the event but I'd guess he had a tip off from them; the guy in the Testarossa there is an active FOC member. We've just moved L7 Club Essex region to there - 3rd Tuesday of the month - do come along and say hi....
Yes that was me, thank you, I was hoping to catch the L7club lot as I've just joined but guess I don't get up early enough- will perhaps see them on a Tuesday then. By a process of elimination then, and guessing from your profile, were you in the elegantly soiled silver/grey v12 jobbie with the PH
smiley? That looked superb.
I don't know Terry personally but he's worked on my little brother's Ferrari. If he's going to turn up to meets in that sort of kit, that's going to make them worth attending.

Terry usually chooses something interesting to turn up in. He does have a rather nice selection to choose from though, doesn't he?
