Hello,

I have an 89' live axle super sprint with clam shells. I need to replace the aging 185/70/13 tires.

Here are my thoughts:

-Go with:
185/60/13 Toyo RA1 on the front
205/60/13 Toyo RA1 at the back

Why not 185/60/13 all around? - The drop in circumfrance will raise my cruising revs too much
Why not 205/60/13 all around? - Lose a bit of steering feel on the front. Also, 205 with clams on the front look a bit "bloated", right?

Hopefully, I will not lose too much ground clearance with the aspect ratio change. I am dry sumped so that should help.

Thoughts?

I can't seem to get any 13 inch 70 profile tires here in Canada.

Feedback?

Here is an example (not my car, but similar spec) of 205/60/13 on both front and rear with the tires of my choice (toyo RA1). Does anyone agree that the front tires look "bloated" and would be better in a 185/60 aspect? I also hear a lower front will help handling thru the correct nose down attitude.

I have Toyo 888's 185 front/205 rear with clams, looks pretty spot on to me and gives a decent balanced handling car, I do have 7" wide rear wheels though which I think the tyres sit on better, will dig out some pics when I get home.
