Hi Chaps,
Does anyone know who's the callipers are on the road sport 125 caterham?
I need to get some Mintex 1144 pads (only one's allowed in the academy)

Also Dot 4 or 5 brake fluid? what does everyone recommend?

Cheers,

Tom.

I buy them from Caterham Dartford. They deliver as well.

Or you could pick them up from Caterham Midlands if close to you - or ask them to bring some to your first event.

Re. brake fluid. The Comma dot 4 that is in there is fine - although, are you having problems?

You could upgrade to Castrol SRF which has a higher boiling point(at £50 per litre vs. £5 per litre!) but I didn't have any fluid problems in the Academy races - not a lot of grip on those tyres to work the brakes!

Don't buy from Caterham, they are far too expensive there

Try Questmede - http://www.questmead.co.uk/

+1 for Questmead, I always use them.

DOT 4 is fine, the general consensus is the grads club is anything else is overkill

Good luck with the Academy. You'll have a great time - every one does.

Just to hijack slightly on the brake fluid. The CR322s don't do much stopping, so you shouldn't need to upgrade the brake fluid this year. However, you can definitely boil the fluid in standard calipers when you have free choice of brake pad and CR500s next year. As you can't really do anything else, you'll probably end up biting the bullet and using SRF at that stage.

You could get them from Hi Spec in Dartford but don't tell anyone I said so. wink Dot 4 or 5.1 is fine, SRF is silicon fluid plus it's grossly over priced.

Thanks all, gave the brakes another good bleed with a power bleeder and they are
30 % better I reckon. I guess it just takes miles and time to get the sir out of the master and the system "post build"

I'll hook myself up with some 1144's next week.

Keep well,
