Interesting thread after the latest guessing game........

I'd buy one if they'd sell me a LHD. (I tried it with Lotus to no avail)

I see you in the garage already Mick, with a tube of araldite and some rivetts.

I think it would have to be turnkey - there is far more to get wrong than in a Seven.

Sorry to be cynical but, bearing in mind the problems I have had with my '07 Roadsport (a car that you would have thought that they would have got right by now having been building it for so long) I can only imagine the build quality issues with a more complicated car. Not for me.

laugh I have to agree! I suppose if they still have quality issues after producing a car for 50 odd years, then I guess there's no hope! smile
Shame it's been dropped though, I particularly liked the Exige, and would be quite happy to use one as an everyday car.
When I enquired about one, there was no Spanish dealer, and they wouldn't sell me a LHD direct.
I wouldn't buy one from a Spanish dealer anyway. Way too expensive.

Looks like I'll have to build myself a Stratos when I've finished the Seven.
Maybe Geoff can copy the frozen snot shell in alloy. cloud9

I actually thought asked Lotus to sell you an Elise / Exige in parts, for you to build yourself from scratch. biggrin

Anyway, why not buy it in another European country. Be it new or used...
Or, because the used prices in UK are ridiculously low, buy yourself one and let someone convert it to lhd. You can do it yourself if you like. I drove a VX220 for over a year as a daily. I don't know how many circuits it has seen. Never let me down. I guess the Lotus would be just as reliable. wink

I'd be down for an s1 exige under 35k with a reliable engine.

Not keen on the looks of the S1 myself.
Are Plans Motorsport still in business? I wonder what the cost of converting an S2 to LHD would be.

Ah, web search brought up .com.
I believe they used to do a LHD conversion on the Elise/Exige.
