Does anyone know if the seat will stay at the same position, or that you will have to slide it further back a bit or maybe forward? I ask this because in the SV, I have the standard seats in the most forward position.

Oh, and the angle of the seat, is that more backwards or upwards?

I swapped leather for the Caterham carbon Kevlar. It was a straight swap and the position was similar, if not identical, to the leather. That was an S3 but the same should apply to the SV.

Which Tillet is the one that's fitted in the CSR?
I tried one out when I was at CC a couple of years ago, and I found it a bit more comfortable than the Tillets I had in my S3 car. Although they were really comfy, they did squeeze my shoulders a bit.
I found the CSR ones better for shoulder room.

I'm thinking of trying some Kirkey seats this time around.

Are the B4's the same as the CSR ones then?

Mick, the CSR Superlight seats are carbon fibre B2 with the Dinamica pads.

Probably the best Tillets for an SV are the B6 or B6F (side mounting like the B2)

None of them are cheap

Thanks! They would go nice in the kitchen, six around a table. biggrin
As you say, expensive. I can't remember what price Tony told me at the time, but I did wince. They where the carbon ones though.
Never mind, I always say, quality is always enjoyed long after the price is forgotten. wink

Ok, and will you sit lower than the standard seats?
I hate the fact I'll have to make a decision without trying them first. I don't think anyone has them in stock in Holland. Hell, I don't even know who sells them over here.
The carbon kevlar ones of Caterham, are those any good, or do most of you prefer the Tillet's?

---
Edit: never mind. I must be stupid as they are Tillet seats???

Yes you will sit lower. If you're thinking of buying the carbon/kevlar ones, you might want to cosider getting a cheap flight over to try them.
They're not cheap!
Personaly I liked them, and wouldn't consider the standard seats after using them.
Is your car an SV or S3?
I had the carbon kevlar in my old R300 by the way. I went for the kevlar becuase I thought the carbon ones would get a bit hot here in Mallorca! smile

biglaugh Compared to the Carbon/Alcantara CSR seats, those carbon/kevlars are pocket money! I had intended to go for the C/K seats, but ended up with the C/A thrones. Hence the pic of me having a crisis in the kitchen when they arrived.

I don't think you can get the CSR ones in kevlar can you?

Mine is an SV. I'm quite small though. The seat rail has been moved 5 cm forward for me being able to reach the pedals. The downside is an SV doesn't look as good, but the upside is I can take a lot more luggage with me. One of my friends can hop in also, which would be a mission impossible with the normal Caterham.

Thinking of that, I might have to stick with swapping just one seat...

No There are no carbon/kevlar B2s (CSR Superlight style)

I've got wide hips which meant I could only have had a S3 with leather seats, or an SV with leather, carbon/kevlar Tillets or the carbon B2s. The kevlar Tillets are only an option because they flex a large amount. Usable in a SV car but a bit boingy. I took the oportunity while down at Caterham ordering the kit, to try out the seating options on the floor...

Interestingly in the pic I'm sat in the kevlar seat, with a carbon CSR seat beside me, but that is actually a much older design than the ones we got, which are definitely the B2 style, with the helmet recess to the headrest, a rounder headrest pad and the back pad is now flatter across the top. The B2 is also open at the hips rather than closed with apertures for the belts. The seat in the picture is more like a B4 but without the Hans compatible harness holes.

Interestingly I did pretty much the exact same thing in the exact same position whilst at CC trying out different suspension options for the R500 I ordered. In the end I went for the kevlar seat, as I obviously have smaller hips than you... wink

Well indeed. The only time I've tried to sit in a R500 I got about 2 inches from the seat base and my hip bones wedged between the two bits of carpet on the Tillet sides. It took me a good minute of squirming to get back out again. It was during that minute that I came to realise the SV was the one for me biggrin

In the end I went for an SV as well - whilst I could drive an S3, it was cramped and travelling 2 up would have been a bit of a squeeze for anything longer than a short journey.

So I traded a little agility for a wider track and more elbow space smile

Oh yes... I prefer driving the Caterham to the other side. Love the Uk country roads. wink
