1989 Caterham....HELP

Ok i have a 1989 caterham, i use the car for track use only. I currently competing in sprints and hillclimbs in northern ireland here.
On my last outting if the season i had a bit of a run in with a barrer, i hit the front of car which started an early winter rebiuld! After removing engine gearbox etc, i proceeded to see what was bent at the front end after accident. Found the steering rack platform to be bent, i then orded one for caterham got old one out new one put in! i put steering rack back in to make sure everything else ok found out the steering rack was bent.
Always thought that it was escort rack but after checking another one didnt seem to match. So i emailed caterham they told me it was a mini rack, i work in parts place and had old stock lying about and found one. Took it home and it doesnt match either! I was wondering if anyone would know what was fitted to the early caterhams, its 1989 any help would be greatly appreciated

The Lotus and early Caterham racks were Triumph Heral/Spitfire with a small tube fitted to limit the lock. I dont think Ford racks were ever fitted and Caterham moved from the Triumph to the Mini Rack.
If it is the Triumph version its easy enough to swap over the lock limiter.

Had my 1995 rack refurbished a few weeks ago, the chap who did it said that it was a modified Austin 1100/1300 with some Allegro bits mixed in.

i give up trying to match it after getting numerous racks and none coming close, closest was a mini one, i have a mk1 escort quick rack lying here its not far off just need to modify it slightly to work with it so just going to use it...
