For a live axle with full caged cage.

Arch do a rather nifty Ali boot cover but Bruce says too expensive to modify for live axle.

The carbon ones from MOG (?) via Fluke are >£400 !

Any other options ? Looking for something more modern than vinyl.

I'd imagine someone could fabricate one in aluminium or fibreglass for you. The design around the rollbar could be interesting from a weather-tight but still accessible point of view. One thing to consider is that the flexible vinyl allows minor overfilling of the boot - very useful on Euro tours hehe

How about the carbon look cloth used on the R500? caterham charge a small fortune for them but softbits have the same material and theres a £10 surcharge over their normal prices. Still vinyl but very funky and modern vinyl it is too.

Thanks for the input.

One of the things we are looking to do is mount the fuel filler on the top of the cover too, so a stiff one would be good smile

made my own http://picasaweb.google.com/kevrusselli/BootCover#... based on the arch cover, needed the middle section to be removable as opposed to the side bits on the arch cover. this allowed me to fit the filler in the right hand side cover. the front slides under an ali channel rivetted to the rear bulk head. the middle section is zues fitted to brackets on the roll over bar mounting. all made from 1.5mm ali.

Hi Kev,
I noticed your motor at Stoneleigh nearly two years ago now, nice to put a name to a car. How did you dress the edges of the cover?

Martin, it is probably not easily seen in the photographs but the cc/ arch cover, the blue one, has a turned over safety edge, because i used a slightly thicker material i just finished with a smooth sanded edge. the finishing touch though was to turn down the last 10mm of the edge slightly, the cc one is the same in this respect. i acheived this by cutting a thickish piece of board MDF to the same shape as the cover but 10mm smaller around the edge this was then tapped down with a mallet on another board with some thin hardboard shaped just smaller than the cover. difficult to explain without pics. will try to get a sketh up on picasa to show the technique.

I am liking that.
