What do you think the 0-100 mph of this 7 would be on a dry day on an airfield:

* SV based chassis
* Minister powered 2.3 Duratec: 270 bhp @ 7500 rpm / 210+ lb/ft torque @ 6000 rpm
* Avon slicks: 7/22/13 on rear, 6/21/13 on front

For comparison, the 230 bhp R500 (so not the Evolution) is:
Max Power: 230 bhp @ 8600 rpm
Max torque: 155 lb/ft @ 7200 rpm
0-100 in Autocar test: 7.26 seconds

And I'm *pretty* sure it had Avon CR500 tires and not road illegal slicks like my example spec above.

So come on, what will it do?

I would say (in my humble opinion) that you have got to expect a smidge under 7 secs for that providing you can get all that power down cleanly and without bogging the engine down. Whatever the outcome I'd like to be there if/when you do it!!!!

I would have thought weight would be an important factor here. So for instance would the extra weight of an SV discount the increased horsepower ?

an SV doesn't weigh that much more if you strip out all the comforts. Miraz proved that several years ago. i think he had it down to 10kg more than an R500 guys

er, if you'd bothered doing any research you'd see that Minister, Mountune and Shawspeed all offer 270bhp+ packages and Raceline offer a 250bhp package from a 2.3l

For me the Duratecs the future for a 7, still no doubt some will still claim 80's technology is the way to go
