What is the best hat for a blat? Especially now it's starting to get cold. Feeling hot but still looking cool is a tricky one. Dare anyone reply with pictures!?

Hats are all very well for keeping your head warm but if you want people to get out of your way try getting one of these.

The Caterham Beanie stays on much better than any others I've tried, either with windscreen or aero.

Like the idea of getting people out of the way. Think I need aero screens for full effect though. Seems to me that girls look cute in a hat that covers their ears, whereas blokes look like they have special needs...
Beanie works best for me but doesn't deal with the issue of low sun where a peak comes in handy. More thoughts anyone?

Strip of black insulation tape across the top of your goggles or sunglasses. A slight dip of the head and Bob's your uncle. If it was good enough for Jim Clark...............

Beanie definately.

That said on the way to the Sunday Service it was my wedding vegtables that got very cold. I swear I was within minutes of frostbite of the testicle at the end of my drive up. Thermals are now on my Father Christmas list.

Glad to see you have all taken this question seriously!!
I liked the jim Clark reference and could have bought the Scottish suggestion on my way back from scotland a couple of weeks ago!
Never had problems with a cold nether region, maybe because my car has a heater.
I have thought of doing something ingenious with a flexible hose to try piping some of the heat into other areas of the car...

Back to the hat question, looks like I will be sticking with the beanie for now.

Stumbled across the perfect winter blat hat while looking for a new cooker in John Lewis! A barber hat similar to the one in the last post. Black with black furry bits and a peak that poppers back when you don't need to shade out the low sun. Should be perfect!

You'd have thought the wax cotton Barbour (aka "Barber") ones should be pretty waterproof.
