Just filled up my r400 today with super unleaded and then its started missfiring and coughing and spluttering is this just a coinsedent or could it be something else

Are you sure it isn't diesel? Should make no difference at all with SUL - has a higher octane rating than normal unleaded...

Charlie,

You could try this:

(car sat, immobilised)
immob. off
ignition on (don't start)
foot to floor on throttle and off again, slowly, 5 times
ignition off
arm immob.
Disarm immob
Start
enjoy

That procedure worked absoloute wonders on our K. No idea if it'll work for you though.

Other "usual" "i've just filled up and now it's all spluttery and horrid" would be - muck in a fuel filter, water in fuel, that sort of thing.

Whose super UL? and did you run the tank dry before filling up.

My VVC has started misfiring twice. First time was after it had been out in very heavy rain all day, which cleared up on its own. Second time one of the spark plugs was dying.

been offshore for 2 weeks came back light on dash saying only 5 ltrs left went to tesco with there ultra super unleaded 99 ron and it was a bag of st straight away so ive ran it all day trying to use the fuel and all of a sudden it will rev then splutters head up my arse

if it happened as soon as you filled up - syphon the fuel out and start over with fresh from a better garage :-)
