Does anyone know how to remove inertia reel seat belts? My car has been fitted with a 4 point belt but the original inertia mechanism is still fitted and i would like to remove it. I can see it but it is sort of fitted in the middle of an inaccessable void!!! Any ideas how to get to it to remove it completely??? Any ideas greatly appreciated! - thanks in advance.

Remove the rear wheels and you will see a triangular plate riveted in front of the rear shock absorber. Drill out the rivets and remove this plate. Please note it may well have been siliconed in place. This will give you direct access to the inertia reel and it can easily be unbolted. Simply rivet the triangular plate back and the job's a good 'un.
