Hi, just got myself my first Caterham, it's an ex-academy car with a few upgrades.

I need some help though so I can drive it!

Currently it has no headlights/front indicators, screen, mirrors, passenger seat/harness(driver's foam seat), so if anyone has any parts that they'd like to sell please let me know, or if you can point me to a good source for these parts where I won't pay the earth I would much appreciate it!

Can I drive with a daylight MOT without most of these parts?

Thanks

Blatchat is a good source for parts for sale as well as having a very good technical forum. You have to join the Lotus 7 Club to be able to post on there though.

There's always the Caterham parts section in PH Classifieds
It's generally worthwhile joining the 7 Club, you can then post on the Tech Talk forum on Blatchat which is a mine of info. You can read it without joining, once you get the hang of the search feature (defaults to the last month only).

Hello and welcome!
Save yourself 40 odd quid. Use the search function on Blatchat, as most topics have been covered anyway.
You can post here for nowt! wink And upload pictures. We like pictures! smile
If you see anything for sale on Blatchat, you can e-mail the poster without being a member.
And as has been said, plenty of parts for sale on PH.
You can get your lamps from here http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/index.html

Just brought some 5 3/4" lamps from SVC linked above, so I'll be taking my original Caterham 7" chrome lights off this weekend. Might be of use to you?

I also have for sale a windscreen that won't pass an MOT (I assume that you have an aeroscreen for this?), but I used for most of a year without a problem. Have a look. - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

You certainly don't need screen, passenger seat or headlights to pass a daylight MOT, but more importantly, is the car actually road registered?

If it has never previously been registered for road use, you're up against the IVA (Individual Vehical Approval) test before you can go anywhere near public roads, and this is a lot tougher, more complicated and costly than any mere MOT test. frown

I'm just on my way out, so ask in the kit car forum for more detailed advice.
