Hi everyone, am new here and was referred by someone from the evo forums because no1 there could provide an answer on how to insure a Caterham in the Republic of Ireland. If anyone here knows of a company then it'd be greatly appreciated

I'll wait for the NI contingent to reply, but there are a fair few Se7ens in ROI as a group of us met with them a few years ago.

Try: http://www.octane.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=23434&... or http://www.classiccar.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=68... or hang on for someone to be around in a while....

I've had 2 Caterhams insured in Ireland over the last few years. The first one was insured with First Ireland:

My current car, a 2003 VVC Roadsport is covered under the multi car policy available through the Irish Kit Car Club. You have to be a club member to avail of the policy and have a normal everyday car to use along with the kit car. Usual renewal is around 1300-1500 euros p/a fully comp. There is no limit on the number of cars covered by this policy so it is not as expensive as it first appears when you consider it is covering at least 2 cars fully comp. There are some minimum criteria to qualify such as driver age and lack of points. (I have 2 points so policy was a bit pricer but still good value)

Brilliant Simon! Thanks a lot... I was actually quite down over the last few days (im pathetic I know) after I rang all those insurance companies and kept getting rejections for the Caterham.

I've signed up for the IKCC and am waiting to hear back from them.

Will give First Ireland a try tho
