Hi all,

My 1992 HPC has recently picked up an irritating ignition fault. Now there is no spark at all.

I've got a pal who is very competent autoelectrician - he's tested all the related wiring for continuity (including immob, rev counter, battery cut-off). He's also fitted new dizzy cap and arm, replacement crank sensor, new plugs and leads and a new set of spark plugs.

The coil is getting 12v but still no spark. My friend is pretty certain it's either the coil/amp or the ECU.

The coil is a cylindrical type, with what looks like an ignition amp mounted underneath. The ECU is a small black unit with no serial number marked on it.

Given this car is 100% standard would anyone be able to tell me which version of ECU it is (956? 967?) and also info on the coil/amp. The ignition amp isn't even shown on the HPC wiring diagram I have (just 'coilpack').

Thanks in advance
Ian

I think that set up used the MBE 906 ECU.

Worth asking around as many have upgraded to TB's and got newer ECUs and may have a good old one in the garage.

I did on my later model no dizzy coil pack ECU - let it go a few years ago to someone in need...

Thanks.

Just called Sam and paid my dues so I can post on Blatchat again. Decided not to renew membership after my first year expired as the community seemed a little odd.

I'll ask around smile

Any HPC-on-bodies owners on here? smile
