Just had a look on Caterham's website, they want ~£300 for a set of front and rear pads! I've got an '09 R500, what would people recommend for a mixture of road and track usage? The original Caterham pads have been fine, but I'm not convinced £300 is reasonable for a set...

I had Pagid Blue pads on my seven - they were great and c. £130 for two pot brakes, four pots will be more, but well worth it.

Good luck

Matt

Speak to John Freeth @ Performance Braking (01600 713117).

You will need to know *exactly* which calipers you have on the car. To say "2003 caterham" (for example) is not enough. You can also get different thickness pads! John can advise you.

I'd recommend RS15 (grey) on the front and RS14 (black) on the rear, although this depends on which brake setup you have, typical use, and whether you want to fiddle with a bias adjuster to fine tune everything?! This pad combo will be around £300 (at least).

I have a spare set of new RS14 rears in my garage. I'll check the fitment/part number tonight, and post tomorrow. I also have a set of (new) Mintex M1136 pads for early AP 4pots (front)

Scratch that, I was looking at the wrong ones - it's £122 for a set from Caterham, so I've ordered from them. Was looking at the wrong thing.

Definitely an area worth doing your homework on! I must admit I don't know what's on mine currently (came fitted) - they've great once you get heat into them, but pretty awful from cold. On the upside I've done a couple of track days and several thousand miles on the road with minimal wear, but they're really not great for road use.

They are the pads that are designed to be used with standard front brakes, not the AP 4 pots.

The "Standard" rear pad to use with 4 pots is 30B013A at £27.73 inc. VAT

I prefer the Mintex 1155 pads over the Pagid.
Pagid initial bite was too great and easy to lock the fronts.

Run Mintex on the fleet and never had a problem with them or complaints from drivers

Are you 100% sure about that? I had an email from the parts department and they said I should use 30B032A with a Dura R500 with 4 pots on the front...
