Anyone know what the decibel level is on a standard R400 Duratec?

pat the plumber had his measured at Oulton park last time we were there, but he has got the cat by pass.

Cant remember what it was, but he got on no probs, Pat might recall the actual reading.

99db at 3/4 rev's no cat and only the 6" can

If you are running the plenum, cat, and standard (7 inch) exhaust, then it is under 90dB - mine was 85dB which is quite low IMHO.

Standard plenum and recently repacked, from what remember it was at 5.5k rev's, by the Oulton Park noise police

if noise is the issue then Nigel Pugh has Raceco's larger can and it's incredibly quiet.

I'm sure there's a photo of it on here somewhere.

Its very sexy, but not that cheap, and oh yeah its a damn sight quieter too!!

R400 with cat bypass and trackday silencer showed 94 db at Castle Combe at 4500 rpm recently

I've just got the raceco silencer fitted too... going to a track day on weds too, so will measure it then. was 96db before...

R400 without CAT will be roughly 98-101 db at 5500RPM, and between 102-105 db on drive by if measured next to a pitwall.

Providing you pass the static test you wont get pulled off the track for being too loud.
