All,

After my 1st experience with caterham last week and the positive feedback/advice to my previous threads, I decided it is the time to go and empty my piggy bank. Will order a superlight or R300, but can NOT get beyond the fact I need to wait till December to have my baby. I am thinking of buying a temporary Caterham until I receive mine. It is for road use. I have not much mechanical experience and live away from CC so it has to be a low mileage good condition car. I wonder if any one knows about any of the following two cars:

Many thanks…

A

Are you aware of the dimensional differences between the SV chasis and the normal chassis?

The white one on Pistonheads seems very good value for the spec and if its been built with Mick's normal ATD then it would make and excellent stopgap or even a good basis to build what you want

pistonheads ad didn't say about chassis. emailed the owner. Standard chassis not for me. Has to be SV. Any comment about CC car, please?

Thank you

Are you a rotund chap then? Seriously, if it's just a matter of your being tall, Fergus will confirm that a 6ft 6inch chap can fit quite happily in an S3 chassis. Given the choice, I think most people would opt for the SV....

The SV suits the "broad of beam" - which is the main reason it was introduced.

The traditional S3 chassis can be driven by tallish people (I'd say up to 6 foot) as long as there is adequate room for the hips.

Tried S3. Very close to my wife (in the passenger seat) which is not helpful during driving ;-)

Have you thought about a part-exchange? for another model?
