I have been interested in Caterhams for years, although i never knew much about them! smile
I have bought a 1.8 Roadsport...uprated and running at 140bhp
See here http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1699375.htm

I love the colour plus it is in lovely condition.
If i have found any faults, it would be the clutch!

I have a real problem on 'take off'....it doesn't like slipping, it is THERE or not!! smilesmile
I think i have sussed it, i hold revs around 2000 and slowly lift the clutch, not trying to accellerate at all at this point.
Then it is easy....but because of this i hate driving in town as it is easy to stall!
I realise i will get used to it but i would prefer to set it up better!!!!

Any thoughts??

Mike.

Check your engine mounts - we had similar once (not on a 7, admittably), and too soft mounts meant that the engine spun on the mounts, and bounced off, causing either a stall or horrific kangaroo action.
If it's not that, you need advie off someone who can sort clutches / linkages / hydraulics - our 7's have never had issues, so I've never learned how to fix em!

That's worth a look!
Think it is more in the setup....but not 100% sure.
I drive a lot of things and the closest to this (clutch-wise is a big old Dumper!!...smilesmile

It would just be nice to be able to drive around somewhere like the town centre and not be in danger of, either kangarooing, spinning up or stalling!

Thanks chaps, might have to take it somewhere!?

Mike smile
